Flat bottom ladles ?

what's the verdict on flat bottom ladles for larger pizzas like 15"
I am using a soup spoon presently and want something more efficient for spreading.

arrgh, I just ordered a flat bottom ladle on ebay, just realized the handle is vertical unlike the spoodles which are horizontal
hope I can bend it flat

Round bamboo spoons work best for me.

I use one of the flat bottom ladles in the 6oz size and it should give you just the right amount of sauce for your 15" pie in just one scoop. Also, if you keep it flat like intended and spread it around with a light hand, you won't have any of the swirls associated with normal ladles or spoons.

Don't rock the Spoodle, just hold it flat.
I've got a set from American Metalcraft covering just about any weight sauce I might want to use. They're cheap and work great.

Most people use the term "Spoodle" to refer to any portion control device that is based on the combination of a spoon and a ladle. However, the term "Spoodle" is a trademark of the Vollrath Corporation for its particular portion control devices. If someone's portion control device (or "food control device") is not called a Spoodle, it is a knockoff of the Vollrath product. I have researched portion control devices and one of the confusing things I discovered is that many manufacturers have color coded devices but the color coding system can vary from one company to the next. So, one shouldn't rely on color as an indication of the size of the bowl.

i use a wok spoon. perfect portion for 13" neo and spreads nicely too.
