I only use whole wheat, which probably makes it different, but the capacity is less than the KA 5 quart. On the other hand, it has a pretty strong motor, and it well built. I also have a Universal, not the plus. The compact handles small batches much better, and I have made batches with 200 grams of flour that came out fine. Actually, I think the Compact is the ideal mixer for many of the posters here, because it allowed me to do a number of small doughs, with slightly different ingredients to decide what I liked best.
