Just bought a 100.00g scale from Amazon for $7.80
« on: February 18, 2013, 01:12:08 PM »
Prestige Delivery (must be non-union to work on President's Day) dropped off my AWS-100 scale an hour ago. It weighed my lab-quality brass 100 gram weight as 100.11g. I re-calibrated and it's perfect now. 100.00g.
My re-purposed Health-O-Meter postage scale isn't accurate for weighing yeast and the like so this is very suitable. It even has a Tare button. It is higher quality than I expected for this price point. Now I'll have to see how long it lasts. I have everything I need for pizza making now. Let the sleeper awake!
Here's the link for any who are interested.

I've been using one of these for a while. Love it.

I often times use Dixie riddle cups and tare them out for my IDY.

Enjoy.

Thanks.  I just ordered it.  I was never really happy with my Salter 1250.  It is only approximately right /accurate within 0.1 g.  I am certain this new one will dramatically improve my pizza!!!

For the price, the 1000-gram capacity scale looks like an excellent companion scale for weighing the larger things like flour and water.

C. Bob;
About the only thing it doesn't do is talk to you....probably a good thing.
That scale has great capacity (8000-grams), and weighs in both lbs/oz as well as metric.
I gotta get me one of those!
Thanks for sharing,

Bob,

Now all you have to do is hope and pray that the company is around over the next 30 years :-D. It's like those infomercials on TV where the seller is giving lifetime guarantees on the products they are selling. They never say whose lifetime, mine or theirs.

I use (and re-use) these little cups. Check on the page for other suppliers. I got 100 of them for a couple of bucks including shipping.

The scale I have now automatically shuts down in the middle of weighing stuff and it is incredibly annoying. How is your scale in that area?
