Vegan California Style
« on: February 18, 2013, 11:40:44 PM »
I guess I will call this a California style.  I used a same day PJ clone, the toppings are caramelized onion, sauteed mushrooms and steamed asparagus.  I have been trying every vegan "cheese" that I can get here in Hawaii and none of them have knocked me out.  And then it hit me, why do I need cheese?  I don't, and this tasty pie shows that!

And here is this one... WWW crust, teriyaki sauce, Swiss chard, mushroom and green bell pepper toppings.  No cheese, no meat like things  :chef:

Tom,

That pizza looks like it should be both tasty and good for you. Did you use a whole wheat PJ same day clone dough for the pizza? I would think it would be a good match for the toppings you used.

Beautiful pie. I've long thought that pizza must be the perfect vegan food.
Pizza is not bread.

You've got to be kidding me. Your boring description sounds NOTHING like that beautiful pie in the picture!! Let me help you...

Steelplayer's tender golden, browned crust, brushed with home-made teriyaki sauce and topped generously in the vegan way, with fresh Swiss chard, white mushrooms and perfectly ripened green bell peppers.

Damn me, I'd pay 3500yen($37 U.S.) for that right now being that my oven is cold and I have no dough on hand.

Mahalo Peter,

It was indeed your same day PJ clone.  I did it with KA white whole wheat.  i increased the hydration, but did it on the fly... silly me didn't write it down.  :-\
