I tried VT smoked pepperoni. It was kinda bland and almost reminded me of the sweet summer sausage you get in them gift boxes at christmas. For $21/LB I'd rather buy Filet Mignon.

Even though I think this is a very good product, like every other "ingredient category" in the pie creation process there is not one product in this category that will universally stand above the rest, and please all comers.

Funny you should mention summer sausage. I was thinking about using some on a pie next time. Can't decide on chopped, shredded, sliced, etc.
PS you need a better butcher if you're paying $21/lb for FM
