Forum upgrade coming soon!

I want to give everyone a head's up that some big changes are coming soon to the forum.

I am preparing to migrate the forum from Simple Machine Forum (SMF) v1.x to SMF v2.x. This is a major upgrade and will require that I take the forum down for a day while I convert the database structure and get everything moved over.

You can rest assured knowing that I have already moved the forum over to SMF 2.x in a test environment and everything is working working as expected. I'm in the process of migrating some of the unique modifications to the new software, as well as building a new theme with similar graphics.

My best guess is that I'll be performing the migration on Saturday, March 9, which means the forum will be unavailable for most of that day.

Hi Steve,

Just my opinion... but you might want to post with a more meaningful subject line... "SMF 2.X" might not make sense to anyone so most people might not click it and read it.

Perhaps... "Forum Upgrade Coming... Site will be down until XX/XX/XXXX"  Or something like that.

You'll notice a slight change in the interface, nothing too drastic. There are some new features.

Is it true that version 2.x allows you to lick your monitor and actually taste the pizza?

I read that on the interwebs.


On a completely unrelated note - does anyone know how to clean lick marks off a flat screen?

I've no idea what you said but well done to you Steve for all the hard work. Any hope of a picture type database of the different types of pizza? If you know what I mean It's purely to help out thicko's like me who before joining this forum thought all pizzas are the same

Yup, there's very little choice here anyway, papa john's (which is in Supermacs who I wouldn't buy a newspaper from let alone pizza) Domino's (yuk, tasteless and unreal expensive €15 for 13.5" Cheese & Tomato) Apache & pizza hut. In my humble opinion none of them are better than what I make at home every friday and saturday night while supping a few cans o stout
