New Orleans pizza
« on: March 03, 2013, 11:28:36 AM »
I am new to pizza making, and hope to experience some really well made pizza in my future travels.  am going to NO later this month, and although prolly not known for pizza, there must be somewhere I can go so that I can start to develop a palate for good crust.  any suggestions?

Nope.  Folks don't go to Nola for pizza.  Too much other great food.

Domenicas in New Orleans makes amazing pies. It's one of John Besh's places. He has different types of restaurants around town. This is his
Italian version, and he knocked it out of the park. They also have pizza happy hour everyday to get $6 pies.

I was going to start a new thread since this is kind of out of date, but.. for easier search purposes, I will put this here.

I am heading to New Orleans the weekend of June 26th and thought I'd look into what was available in pizza even though I will be stuffed with all the other good stuff there. But hey! Theres ALWAYS a little room for pizza!

I'll update if I find anything else.

I love pizza as much as the next guy or gal, notwithstanding, I think Pizza is the last thing I'd eat in NO - especially if I was from NY or someplace else that has decent pizza. Not that pizza in NO sucks - I don't know but I'd be surprised if it doesn't - but with so much incredible food available, why go for second-rate pizza?
