I use one pkg of each kind of beans, don't know the weight as my store only sells one size but I estimate maybe 1/2 lb/pkg. Slice several pieces of bacon, maybe 4 or 5, render bacon in big pot, add one large onion, cut up, several peppers (how much heat do you want?), then add beans, if you soak over night cooking time is less. Add ketchup and molasses to taste, I emptied about 1/4 bottle of each. I believe I also added some chicken stock, maybe 4 cups. All measurements are eyeball for this one.
