I've always used a rolling pin to roll out my dough into a round pizza crust. I have seen some condemnation of this method, so I'd like to know what some other good methods are, especially for New York style dough. How do I go from dough ball to pizza crust without using a rolling pin? Tossing a spinning dough in the air seems like an advanced technique. Is there a simpler process suitable for a beginner?
I thought perhaps there might be some tutorials on this site for common pizza making techniques, but if they exist, I couldn't find them.
