Oh, the Humanity!
« on: April 04, 2013, 03:08:49 PM »
So there I was, making a Greek style pan pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni. The pizza was getting done on the top but I felt the bottom needed more time, so I decided to put a piece of foil over the top. That's when disaster struck! I pulled the pie out with my pan gripper to put the foil on and dropped the pan on it's edge, spilling most of the cheese and sauce onto the oven door! :'( I had no choice but to grab a spatula and scoop it all back onto the crust. It wasn't pretty but it still ate pretty well. 8) I'd blame the gripper but to be honest, it was nothing but the sad result of pizza making under the influence. >:D

under the influence indeed, even took time to take a pic of the pie sticking to the oven door  :-D  it usually happens me when I'm launching the pie with a few scoops in me  :-\

The influence of the influence can be strong.

That better not leave scars on him Steve....else it will cost another couple grand to monitor his health.

When I'm under the influence, I make pizzas that look like plastic barf that stuck to the back of Mr Spock in the original series.

Ok, round two went much better, though I would still have liked a little more bottom color, but at least everything stayed where it belongs. :P I baked on the middle rack without the stone @ 500.
BTW, If I eat any more pizza, I'm gonna look like a huge Manatee! :-D I sorta already do. :-[

Lol Steve!  :-D  Were you using your really good pan gripper like you gave me?  That darn under the influence sure does funny stuff.

Your second Greek pizza looks delicious!

That's a good pizza too...like the way that was baked in that pan. I know the crust edge had to be killah. Is that Precious brand cheese Steve?

Thanks Bob. No, not Precious. I first applied small dabs of Grande Fiore di Latte and then covered that with the mild cheddar Norma uses on her Detroit pies. If you look close at the pre-bake pic you can see the Grande. I've done this with ricotta as well, and really liked it.
