Slice or Piece
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:03:21 AM »
I've always called it a slice. It's what I ask for. It's what I offer.

This brings up another question...pizza or pie?

I never really called pizzas "pies" until I frequented this forum. My family still looks at me kind of funny when I say "pie" for pizza.

Maybe they're right...I've become a pizza snob. :-\

When I was a kid it was , "Da Pizza Pie"
I remember being on top of the car at a drive in movie and the advertisement from the snack bar would be on the screen, with FRESH, HOT Pizza Pie, and of course popcorn, etc.

Any way you slice it, it's just another piece of the pie!

Our Chicago-area and other Mid-west members can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the terms "pieces" and "squares" are the terms used to describe what you get when you cut a Chicago or other Mid-west thin pizza in "party cut" or "tavern" or "bar" style, or what member BTB has referred to as "Chesdan" style.

I'm with Pete-z, a slice is mostly triangular in shape (one side is radiused), and includes both crust and heart.

Best, Fran
