We just finished eating a 12-inch thin crust. Thanks BTB for another great formula. I forgot the semolina but it still turned out great. I won't forget again. I finally got a chance to try my new 12-inch cutter pan and it worked very well, indeed. I just did a simple pepperoni and mushroom and the crust turned out better than all local pizza places save one. So I was really happy with this result.

Not so fast, whippersnappers :-D. Note the triangle slices of HRI's frozen pizzas, from Classic to Ultra Thick: http://www.homeruninnpizza.com/frozen-pizza/details?alias=ultra-thin-cheese.

Also, see the HRI pizzeria pizzas below.

I made the pizza but someone (who shall remain nameless) cut the pizza while I was cooling it on a rack. I pray that you have enough beer in your 'fridge to wash the memory from your mind.  ;)

But seriously though...no comments on how the pizza looked or the thinness of the crust, just razzies on the most superficial feature of all. Just wonderin' ... how long do you guys talk to a woman before noticing the color of her eyes? Or even that she has eyes?  ;D

how one cuts a pizza is not at all superficial, it completely changes the way that a pizza "eats."  There is a major difference between a standard triangular slice, and the diversity of corners, edges, and center pieces of a party cut pie.  I feel very strongly about this, obviously.   :chef:

That's been ticking me off for a while, that they show triangles in their promo shots.  The restaurants do the appropriate party cut.  I figured the triangle pix are for all those heathens out there who butcher their pies thusly.

That's what I figured too, at least for the frozen HRI that I was buying at the grocery store.  Seems to me they didn't want to "offend" the non-midwestern pizza consuming public!  Interestingly, the thin crust Delissio pizzas do use a square party cut on their boxes.   :chef:

But it's not just about tradition, the way you cut the pizza really does affect the way it "eats" and tastes!  There's something about those greasy, soggy, cheesy middle pieces that you just can't achieve with a standard triangle cut.  As well, you don't get the crispy corners with the triangle cut, either!   :chef:

Can you imagine if someone in the NYC thread made a NYC pizza, but cut it into squares?  That most certainly would NOT go over there.  It would absolutely ruin the NYC eating experience!  I don't see why there is a double standard for midwest/chicago pizzas.

HRI is now in 28 states with its frozen pizzas. So we know why they show their pizzas cut triangle style. Money trumps tradition.

That's fine, they can cut the frozen ones any way they want...still don't make 'em any good!   >:D

Yup, my wife's pizzas are also pie-cut.  It is my secret shame.
