Need suggestions on floor.  Planning on bricking the outside. Keeping the top open to cook on top but going to box it in.

Brick the interior and insulate the exterior.

what does the inside look like?  is there any way to raise the whole thing up?  can you take the top off to work on it?
looks pretty cool.

Sorry bill.  I have 2 little girls keeping me very busy.  The inside is wide open.  I plane on building a shelf to get it up off the ground.  About three foot.  An uncle is giving me about 50 fire bricks to put inside for the floor.  But I have been debating on building a shelf on the inside.  So that I could build my fire and get a lot of coals built up and the spread them out.  Then slide in a 16 by 25 inch shelf that would made out of firebrick .  Let it heat up and then cook on it. Any ideas or advice.  I can take the top off. I added a second stack and have two dampeners for them.
