It's time to admit that I have become addicted to trying to create the perfect deep dish pizza. I've been trying a new approach once a week for months trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Now it is time to meet others like me. I'm hoping to learn how to create a thick, flavorful, flaky crust. The best pizza I've ever had was at one of the original B.J.'s Chicago Style Pizzerias in Newport Beach, California. We would stand in line as a family in front of the restaurant, with a view of the ocean and the pier, waiting for a table on a Saturday night. They used brick ovens and cast iron skillets they would put on a scale on your table. Such great memories. Now BJs is a chain and the original flavor is gone. Although still good, I felt it was time to create my own.
