Jon, all the bad weather, and now this. You must love to be punished :o

Did I miss something? Probably lots, what is the test for? and more importantly , has it stopped snowing?

Nothing like being in clinical care, right Jon?

But, immediate frustrations aside, not a bad gig in its entirety...if you have not already, check Bill SFNM thread on "This is Water," and in particular, TXCraig's feedback.

Enlightening stuff!

Welllll....short story, weather is back to normal, green and warm. The test thing is/was a big pain. Our respiratory dept is all of a sudden requiring all of us to pass the advanced Neonatal Pediatric Specialty Exam. I took 2 years of school to pass my RRT boards 23 years ago and have 5 more years to retire and now I have to pour over material on my own to pass a new 140 question, 3 hour test! 2 of the supervisors told me that they were doing it to weed out some of the people they want out >:( what a slap in the face. It has to be done by 5/1/14 or we're out of a job!! Oh,  be informed it will cost you 300 bucks, non-reimbursed!!! Good new is that I PASSED!!! so last nite was celebrated with 2 fat ribeyes on the grill and toooo much brandy :-D  Back to work tonite and smile at them. I'm sure at a few days from 58 I was one of the ones they wanted weeded. About 5 people over 50 have been helped to the door in the last year!! I'm just better at ducking than others!! :P

Jon, congrats. I am 62 and have been a cardiology tech for 30+ years. Now they say that I can no longer do tests on Medicare pts in the hospital. Ok in the clinic. So they want me to take a 2 yr course and get certified. Fortunately for me they grandfathered me into my position 23 yrs ago, so I said, no problem, I will work in the clinic, no more weekends or holidays, I am so sad. Also good that I am the senior tech and ....
anyway, you did good!!!!

Man I love small portion eaters...especially on special occasion family Prime Rib nights.
My dog Bo enjoys those evenings too. We wolf down scraps together side by side.  8)
