Penn Mac is AWESOME!

I just talked to Rose at Penn Mac.  It's Thursday at 1:30.  They're shipping me 7# of Grande cheese and 6 cans of 6-in-1 by UPS for arrival by Pizza night TOMORROW.  Granted, I live in Arlington, VA, but WOW - is she ever helpful. ;D ;D

yeah but i find their ups shipping prices to be out of orbit.  (i'm pretty experienced with doing mail orde stuff)

I think their UPS shipping is high also. It cost me as much for the shipping as it did for 4 #10 cans of sauce. That was only shipped to the midwest!

I totally agree on the shipping prices.  I stopped using them because of it.

I just ordered a substantial number of items from them ($148) and found that somehere just above $100 in items that the shipping charge was waived.

I just received an E-Mail from PennMac:
  We received your food order to Pennsylvania Macaroni today and realized that the shipping costs were not added into the total cost. It must be a mix up in the system. I've ordered from Penn Mac and been pleased. However, this weekend I visited their store in the Strip district of Pittsburgh.  If you are nearby, it's certainly worth a visit. They have a great selection of Italian foods and a terrific deli, with good prices (especially on meats and cheese) compared to what I can get in the Washington DC area.  The selection in the store is better than what they show online.  Plus, shopping in the Strip is fun, you can have an "almost famous" sandwich from Primanti's and pick up lots of cheap Steeler's swag!  Here's a snapshot of my loot:
