Guinness Slurpee.
« on: June 15, 2013, 03:57:30 PM »
This is so good, it deserves its own topic.

I put a Guinness Draught in the freezer until you can't hear the little ping pong ball rattling around any more when you rock the can. Cut it open and dump it into a glass. Awesome summer drink.
I love pigs. They convert vegetables into bacon.

And I bet it's less of a headache later than the Mackeson Triple XXX Stout float that I used to love in the summer:  vanilla ice cream floating in a frosty mug of Mackeson's.  Sweet but yummy.  I drank a lot of Mackeson's in my 30's.  Then I discovered Murphy's and that's been my beer for this decade.  I mainly use Guinness for baking.

Interesting... I actually like having beer floats, particular with Guinness... the sweetness of a good vanilla ice cream really helps bring out some notes in the Guinness... Quite delicious.

An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hold onto one blade of grass and not fall off the face of the earth.

Great video!  The technical term for that is "supercooling."  I'm not sure that would work with the Guiness cans though, as I think the widget would nucleate ice as soon as the can is opened.  Someone give it a try!   :chef:

I've found a can opener facilitates the pouring process.
