I was bored so I made foccacia bread one day....it eventually turned out really nicely (I used emeril's basil foccacia recipe from foodtv) and as I tasted it I thought it would make a nice pizza crust. It was tasty with mozz. cheese anyway. So I decided to make a pizza out of a batch and it came out really nicely. I have tried to make homemade pizza in the past with mixed results but this turned out much better. I know foccacia really isn't supposed to have sauce with the other toppings in the traditional sense but it turned out much better than any standard crust recipe that I tried. I used store bought sauce (usually this is the weakest part of my pizza but the one I used was actually semi half decent, could have been better though. Anyone else try sauce with a foccacia recipe?
