12 to 14 inches.  I most often make them 12 inches in diameter because that is as big a pizza as I can eat by myself in one sitting.  Occasionally I make them 14 inches because I really like the slice size on a 14 inch pizza, but then there will always be leftovers.  Not that that's a bad thing.  :-)

Some of the most fun as making a 30" pizza at a friend's Pizzeria. When you see it in front of you, it really is amazing.

Wow - how much dough does it take to make a 30" pie?

Okay science man :-D Let's go from a 14" pie is a 275 gram'ish dough ball, I'm thinking the formula is more than just doubling it???

You'd multiply the weight of the 14-inch pie by the ratio of the areas.  Area 14-inch = 153.86, Area 30-inch = 706.5

706.5/153.9 = 4.6

275g *4.6 =1262.8g

Not science, just math!

If I remember correctly, you will need 3.8 pounds of dough to make this pizza. Also, just over 4 pounds of cheese, plus what ever toppings you want.

I've opened a 275g ball to over 60". If you baked it, it would redefine "thin crust pizza."  :-D

Paul,

Since Pi (3.14159) is involved in both calculations, the conversion can be simplified by simply multiplying 275 by (152/(72).
