Floor gap question with FB Andiamo 60 Oven...
« on: August 10, 2013, 08:38:01 AM »
Hi All,

Just received my Forno Bravo Andiamo 60 oven and there seems to be a gap between the landing and the oven floor.  Is this normal for expansion?  I have a cal into FB, but they are open until Monday.

Thanks

That's not normal in any oven.  They may have given you the wrong floor pieces.  Part of their lack of quality control.  Are you not able to physically push those pieces together?

No, that was the way it was delivered. Everything else seems to be good.  Solid and well made.  Hard to believe that was an oversight on their part.  Very noticiable. We haven't checked the second oven, order for a family member, will check that one later today.

It must be the lighting from the camera but it looks as though the floor pieces are a different shade from each other.  The color doesn't look uniform to me.

That is not normal and Forno Bravo should address this asap.

I have the Andiamo 70 and there are no gaps like what you have in the pictures.

I agree, I was actually able to pull the floor forward and there is no gap in the front, now the gap is in the back. I didn't start to cure it as it seems that it is not correct.  I am a bit frustrated just because I asked them about their quality control process.   They assured it is up to high standards...  Oh well.   They need to address it..

If you can pull it forward to create a semi seamless cooking space then that would be fine.   If there is a gap towards the back perimeter then no worries.  That is unusable space and will fill up with ash after one firing.

So,  apparently,  the oven's floor gap is correct.  There is supposed to be a gap for expansion.  It is supposed to be in the back of the oven.  It is about 1/4 of an inch gap.  Must have shifted to the front during shipping.   Will start curing today.    Thanks for your input.
