Anyone know the name of this creepy critter?  He lives next to our front door.

i agree with Jackitup.  Leave it be! Orb spiders are not dangerous and eat more annoying bugs!

Well, that would freak me right out.  But then again we have some weird albino white spiders who are little and not hairy that freak me out, too.  I'm not a spider person. Sorry Peter Parker.

I think it's a rare breed that feeds only on Aleppo chiles!

Nate,

That is one nasty looking spider.  We also have a lot of different spiders this time of the year.  I recently watched this video by Jack Hubley from our local TV station about why there are so many spiders this time of the year.

I just killed some nasty looking spiders on my mother's rungs of her railings last evening.  When I walk the dogs I run into different spiders webs when it is dark.  Yuck!

Orb Weaver spider. Harmless. ;)
It's an Earth food. They are called Swedish meatballs. It's a strange thing, but every sentient race has its own version of these Swedish meatballs! I suspect it's one of those great universal mysteries which will either never be explained, or which would drive you mad if you ever learned the truth.
