Robert A. Zuppardi, 58, of Guilford passed away January 11, 2012 in St. Raphaelís Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Carol Montanaro Zuppardi. Mr. Zuppardi was born in New Haven Dec. 2, 1953, son of the late Anthony and Frances Fernino Zuppardi. A baker by trade, he was the last sole owner of Zuppardiís Apizza in West Haven. Currently, he was co-owner of Tonyís Zís Restaurant in Northford. He was passionate about his work and was equally passionate about watching his daughter, Francesca pitch softball. Also, he was an avid Dodgers and Miami Dolphins fan. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Anthony (Cori) Zuppardi of East Haven; two daughters, Melissa (Joseph) Bozzi of New Haven and Francesca Mari Zuppardi of Guilford; one grandchild, Gabriella Zuppardi; his in laws, Joseph and Joan Schaefer of West Haven; and two brothers in law, Michael Montanaro of North Haven and Matthew (Patrizia) Schaefer of Wallingford.

Very sad news.. Just had a few Zuppe's pies over Christmas, he will be missed..

In recent years Pepe's in New Haven , in my opinion, has gone down hill; but Zuppardi's has always been tried and true..
