Some pies from today - The Smiling With Hope Bakery
« on: August 27, 2013, 05:23:22 PM »
Here are some pies from today.  Business is going great.  We just got a couple orders for 50 pies and another for 20 for next week.  We are getting our basil from the science teacher down the hall.  He grew 20 plants for us ovefr the summer.  Hopefully the sun and warm will stick around awhile.  The skillet pie is cooked in a cast iron skillet around 450 degrees on the deck with lots of EV olive oil in the pan.  Walter

Thanks parallei! We have had a few pizza lovers stop by most notably a 3rd generation NYC pizzeria owner and a  Pepe's native.  Both gave us 5 stars and the Pepe native said it was the best pie they have had since leaving Pepe's neighborhood.  The NY guy is now living in Columbus and has been hounding me to run a pizzeria for him but I don't have that many hours in the day unfortunately.  Due to our set up being in a locked high school (keep the killers out), operating only during school days/hours, makes it a somewhat of hard sell to the public.  Most people here eat pizza at diner and many pizza shops don't even open for lunch and most don't get you can reheat a pie at home with great results.    You are welcome here anytime!  Walter

Ha! Funny. I think you meant to say "show up and stick around for a while."
