Leaving Pizza Oven On Overnight?
« on: September 22, 2013, 04:25:01 PM »
Hey All,

I'm a super n00b who loves pizzas, but I don't know all there is to know about the equipment..

I run a small pizzeria with a 4 rack bakers pride electric oven.  It usually takes about 40 minutes to heat up, and even longer to get the bricks where I want them.  I was told that I could leave the oven on all night.  My source (who is pretty reliable with the info) told me that the bricks would be ready to cook as soon as I got in, AAAND I'd even save money on the electric bill.

Anyone out there have any info on this?  If this was already posted somewhere on here I'm sorry.

Thanks -

- Greg

Greg,

In parallel with your post here, you might want to register and post your question at the PMQ Think Tank at http://thinktank.pmq.com/viewforum.php?f=6. As an example of what you might find is a thread such as this one about leaving Bakers Pride gas ovens on overnight:

I use 2  blodgett 1000 ovens (gas) and we turn them off at the end of the day (pilot light stays on).  It takes about an hour to get them up to temp the next day.  I don't know enough about electric to know if that would be efficient or not but my father drilled me as a kid in turning lights off when not in the room ;D  Walter
