Cheap 16.5 inch stone - today only
« on: December 01, 2013, 08:06:30 AM »
Hi, in case anyone needs a 16.5 inch round stone (maybe to try something new on the Blacksone or as a backup)

Chefs has them on a one day sale with free shipping - normally 30 bucks - today 15.00 - seems like a good deal so just passing along as FYI

Thanks for the post.  That is an amazing price especially with free shipping.  I paid $16 including tax

Thanks for the post, this is a super deal, I order 2. With free shipping and sales tax it came to just under $33 buck.

"Heat-safe to 450 F"…umm, I don't think so.

This was in posted Dec. of last year - boy, you are on a delay line - I'm still using mine in my Blackstone at plus 600 degrees - not sure what you mean by I don't think so?

Nor, I was just browsing through old posts and found this. I'm glad the Chefs stone is still working for you.

When a manufacturer states that a product will only go to some limit, and a user regularly exceeds that limit, then it's usually only a matter of time before said product fails. In this case, while the price is (still) attractive, I'm guessing the more expensive 16.5" stones out there are more expensive for a reason. For this reason, I'd prefer to go for a stone with a higher operating temperature. As they say, YMMV.
