I been doing a lot of reading about everything pizza and i notice a lots of posts referring to having a powerful enough broiler element. What I can't find is any indication of what is powerful enough, or some idea's of suitable specs. I guess what I am looking for is basically a broiler element 101 thread.
So I'll start, I checked the specs on my oven and I have 6 pass 4000W watt element. The stove is a LG LRE30453
So where does this rank on the broiler spectrum? I am guessing its right in the middle of the pack, not weak, but not overly strong either.
basiclly here is what I know to be true.
The number of passes is the shape of the element, the greater number of passes has more element surface in the shape.
So the higher the number of passes and wattage the better for pizza.
Home Ovens usually have 4 or 6 pass elements and some have 8 or even 12 pass in really high end models. Wattage tends to follow from 2400 and up.
