Pitza in Hazleton PA
« on: May 29, 2010, 09:33:26 AM »

Has anyone ever had Pitza at Senape's Pitza in Hazleton PA, they spell it Pitza, they have a Romano Pitza and it is just flat out delicious. thick crust, the crust is very light and soft, sauce has a hint of garlic and covered with Romano cheese. there is something about that pizza that keeps me going there every now and then, 30 mile trip, there are pics on the wall where celebrities visited. they have been in business over 60yrs I even asked them to open a place in my area, the owner laughed, at his age he is well into retirement age. but I thought I'd ask.

My father is from Hazelton. I just had my cousin visit from Hazelton and he brought some "pitza" from Senape's. I've never had it before, but it was AWESOME! It's basically a Sicilian style tomato pie with romano on top. I especially liked the baked cheese edges. Great cold....
