Granite cleaner/sealer
« on: October 11, 2013, 05:03:16 PM »
Hi,

This may not be the right place for this question, but something just struck me as I was preparing my dough.

On Wednesday I used a cleaner/sealer product on my granite.  I have since cleaned with water 3-4 times.  I made my dough directly onto the granite....... Do you think there are any food safety concerns with making the dough on the granite?

Thanks for your thoughts

I use Granite Gold. It claims to be safe on food prep surfaces and non-toxic.

You need to check the MSDS of your product to see if it is safe for food areas.  Miracle makes all kinds of excellent sealers .

Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.
