Where to buy High-Gluten in Northern Va.
« on: October 15, 2013, 11:04:43 AM »
Looking to find some high-gluten flour in Northern Virignia.  Best I have found so far is 2 pound bags for $8.  Want to get a 50 pound bag if possible.  I live in the Manassas/Fairfax area.

An earlier post on this forum indicated COSTCO sells high gluten flour in Northern Virginia. But a membership is needed.

If you ever use I-95 through Baltimore, The Restaurant Store just off I-95 on Kane Street in Baltimore sells ADM Gigantic cheap. They are like a Home Depot or Staples, and easy to shop at:

This earlier post discussed Prima Foods, just down the street from The Restaurant Store:

George Ruhl in Baltimore also sells flour; details in another thread on here.

Finally, another thread talks about Saval Foodservice near Jessup, MD.

Thanks for the reply.  I've got a Costco membership, but haven't seen any high gluten flour at my local store.  I know some of the guys there and will have them check the inventory system.

Saval foods in Elkridge (Jessup), not far from BWI sells 50 lb bags of all trumps for about $24-25, maybe less.  You have to call an hour or so ahead and tell them you want to do a cash on delivery pick-up at their location. Then go and pay in cash. You can also get Caputo 00 flour ($45 for like 60 pounds or so), bread and all purpose flour, and shredded Grande cheese (but have to buy a case, which includes six 5-pound bags).
