So what are your best methods for keeping salad greens fresh in a refrigerator?  Just interested to see different opinions on the subject...

I wrap them in moist paper towels and put them in plastic bags or containers.

What would you guess is the shelf life when using this method?

Rinse in salad spinner and do not dry all the way.  Store them in salad spinner in fridge with top on.

I haven't done any controlled experiments, but I would guess at least 50% longer for salad greens and twice as long for herbs.

For lettuce, I run through the salad spinner to remove as much water as possible. I put back in the plastic bag that I put it in, in the store. I put that bag, unsealed into the salad crisper compartment in the fridge. My lettuce will last 1-2 weeks, if it was in very good shape when I purchased it.
