Best Bottled Pizza Sauce I have tried (Fortuna Passata Sauce}
« on: January 20, 2014, 11:05:07 PM »
I have tried many can and bottled pizza sauce from supermarkets ,Walmarts and Amazon.
Most are OK
I have bought a Sauce from Annalisa about 2 years ago and it was the Best(Passata Sauce}
Well cannot fine Annalisa Passata anymore but I have found a New Pizza sauce.
Picked up a Case at my Local distributor and its also a Passata Sauce made by Fortuna(never heard of Fortuna from Italy and nothing on the internet}
Will buy 10 cases when I run out of Grande cheese in March $20 per 12 bottle case(funny there is No expiration date on bottles but only a Code number whatever that means}
I have been reading about Passata sauce and it seems many say its the best sauce to put on pizzas.
Yep that's what I will be only using for now on...............JT

Johnny,

Do you add anything to it, or use it straight out of the bottle?

From what I read its just pealed and strained tomatoes that are placed in a jar with a fresh basil leaf, is that right?

Tom

Yep out of the bottle and onto the pie
You are correct that they strain it in a way and just bottle it
Its Not a Watery type of a sauce but too me it taste great out of the bottle
No  basil leafs that goes into it that I can tell
Fortuna and Annalisa both taste alike with their Passata sauce and none of the supermarket types
does not even come close.
Think I found the magic sauce I have been looking for these past years.........JT

after seeing this post I happened to find two bottles of these on the shelf at a local store, they appear to be kind of thin/watery but will give them a shot. If worst comes to worst I'll use it for Bloody Mary's!
