I use a meat slicer to slice my pepperoni most of the time.  I have a lower end Cabela's one but it's slighty different that the one linked, looks like they  have changed a little.  I won't break it out for a 1/2 stick of pepperoni but will do a stick or two when I'm doing other things like bacon.

Scott, I would have sliced it if I had know you needed it sliced  :P

"I've never used a stick of pepperoni that I would consider even close to worthy of the trouble of slicing by hand."

Ryan so it's safe to conclude that you have not had VT smoked? -Marc

Yes, it is. I've gone through dozens of sticks of Bridgford and one Margherita stick (which was horrible), and I've read many times about the Vermont smoked, but I've never had it or seen it.

I've had it and think it is waaaay over priced, which is "OK" I suppose for a NP type pie. But I think there are different type roni that works better for say....a NY style pizza. ymmv.  :chef:

Mary Ann, if you felt like freezing them and take to post office in a box(no cooler, ice jel bags necessary)I would gladly take them off your hands and add a lil something for your trouble.
Just letting you know in case you don't get anymore takers.

Edit: I just saw that you rated Grande somewhere.....how does this F&A compare?

Bob,

This is Scott123's rating
Calabro - 9
Saputo/Frigo - 8.5
Grande - 5

Having tried Saputo, Frigo and Grande I would agree with his rating.  I would say that RD house brand Supremo Italiano is similar to Grande.  But I have not tried Calabro YET  ;D I want to use F&A a few more times before I judge.  So far I like the taste, it grates cleanly and melts well.  I appreciate your offer  ;)

I will post my review of the cheese the next time I make pizza.  Not sure it will happen this week or next week though.  Lots to do before Santa comes.  Maybe I'll leave him a pizza and a beer/soda instead of milk and cookies  :-D

You know, I think my Sam's club sells Frigo cheese. I just read a thread over on pmq think tank....back in '07 a couple people said the Frigo cheese was no good'
Anyone here know if their cheese from '07 is different than the current product they produce?

Bob,

I bought a block of Frigo from Costco two weeks ago and it was great!

yeee haaa....thanks Mary Ann!  :chef:

Update: just got back from sam's club...my store does not have near the selection that sam shows on their web site. Wish they carried the Bakers and Chefs 50/50, would like to try that one.

Anyway, the only "Frigo" they had is the lm/ps mozz. Did a quick nuke test with Sorrento 4-cheese and the Frigo, both are pre shredded product. Frigo stomped SorrySorrento.....this cheese has that rich buttery taste and I look forward to tonight's first bake on the Blackstone.

I had 3 loaves left but I just went in the basement and learned that my spare fridge with the remaining cheese in it just died  :'(

RIP refrigerator and cheese...
