Pizza Not Always the Best Choice
« on: January 11, 2014, 06:57:52 PM »
It looks like pizza is not always the best choice:

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/state&id=9389941

Looking at the stock pizza photo shown in the article, I am reminded of a DeLorenzo pizza (see photo below). It's hard to imagine someone being stabbed and choked and struck in the face for bringing home a pizza looking like that :-D.

Peter,

That pizza also reminds me of a DeLorenzo pizza.  That poor woman being treated like that for just bringing home a pizza instead of a chicken sandwich.  I sure would not want that man in my life.

I wonder where that pizzeria is that made that pizza.

I wonder what his opinion is about his new jail food.  :o

At least it appears her wounds were superficial....but I'll bet her mind will never allow her to bring a man his lunch ever again. Some people just have to mess up a good thing.

From the report: " Investigators say the woman, whose name wasn't immediately released, was treated for minor injuries. "

Another 'wacko in Waco'!! I'd take that pizza over a chicken sandwich any day. He's probably thinking he should have gone with a Thank You instead of jail time!!!

Attica and Sing Sing the better known of the few I've been in. Spent almost three years in the kitchen and bakery of Auburn. If you could pick and choose some of the fare was pretty good. If the food on a particular day didn't suit me I could always stop at the grocery on the way home. Retired from all that a few years ago.

Morning fellas, I was the former; got to go home at the end of the day and collect a paycheck. True some of the food was tasteless garbage maybe even worse the the mentioned 'nutra loaf'* but I can remember pulling the top crust off of a fresh loaf of bread and slathering it with government butter, five pound blocks marked USDA that had something to do with dairy supports. Probably the bread as a whole wasn't good but just the top along with the smell of a few hundred loaves cooking away in the big rotating oven was great. Every other Sunday we panned around two thousand gorgeous thick pork chops in that oven in two bakes. Now that was an aroma. I could go on and on.

*As a form of discipline an inmate might go on a diet of nutra loaf, a bread containing ground vegetables, bran and who knows what all designed to be a complete nutritious diet. Was it effective as discipline? I don't know. As I said I have fond memories of working in the kitchens as well as other areas of the jails. I can also recall breaking up fights, getting accidentally stuck with a shank, having piss thrown on me, freezing my ass off in a cold yard watching inmates walking in circles and putting up with arrogant supervisors who kissed bum or more likely stabbed someone in the back, figuratively, to get where they were. Stories, I've got 'em.

Jon, I'm good. I didn't think anybody was prying, just commenting on what I put out there. I don't have a lot of pizza experience and I appreciate reading what others have learned on this site. I am also found of a little humor here and there.

Me, too. I love asking for duck milk or duck butter when checking out at convience stores. I had a lady follow me to my car once and gave me a real scolding about their being no such thing. I said, "O, Yeah? What do you think baby ducks drink?"

Sorry off topic, but humorous to me. :-D
