Sir Lancelot flour at Dawn food in NJ
« on: February 10, 2014, 04:29:56 PM »
Picked up a 50 lb bag of KASL flour today at Dawn Food in Edison NJ. They have cash and carry 9-3 pm Mon-Fri. It was $20.83 . It was painless and they were very friendly. You just call ahead and its ready for pick up with in the hour. You get there, go in the office, pay in cash, and they load it in your car.
Now I just have to figure out how to store it and convince my wife I am not a nut case for bringing home a 50 lb bag of flour  :-D
Sorry if this has been posted before, I only saw a post of someone saying they had a $200 minimum but I did not encounter that.

Thanks for the post Sam.  ;D   I ordered from Dutch Valley and paid a good amount for shipping for the 50 lbs bag.  I'll order from them in a few months.

I bought some food grade 5 gal buckets from Loews and Gamma lids from Amazon for storage.

That's a pretty decent price, it's a shame they don't package it in more convenient sizes. I like to store mine in gallon size zip-lock bags, they hold almost exactly 5 lbs. and you can stick them in an extra fridge or the freezer if necessary.

I just put my #50 in its storage container.  2 Food grade 5 gal buckets work just fine.

The lid for a 5 gal bucket is difficult to get off once on.  A gamma lid has 2 pieces.  The first piece attaches to the rim of the bucket, you need to hammer/mallet for this.  The lid piece is threaded and screws on to the part that is attached to the bucket.  This makes it easy to open and close.  Both pieces have gaskets and make a good seal.  See the link below

Yes, I fit my 50 lbs of KASL in 2- 5 gal buckets with some room to spare.
