Ok, try to find whatever canned tomato products you can and post the pictures here. We can work on a sauce then. Your best bet might just be adding Italian seasoning and salting/sweetening to taste. I think it will be best to work with what you have available locally rather than relying on expensive imported products. See if you can find fresh basil, even if it's the wrong type of basil it could work great for sauce.

Seems canned tomatoes aren't a big product here.  I did find two online though and have already reached out to them.  Are canned tomatoes different than tomato paste?  Can both be used?

that's like comparing milk to powered milk. there is no comparison. real tomato makes all the difference, as long as they aren't over cooked they will retain that bright 'fresh' taste that paste/pasta sauce can't provide

Do they grow plum tomatoes there? If canned tomatoes are a specialty product in China, things should get expensive fast.

Billy,

I sure don't know what kinds of pizza sauces they sell in China, but maybe you can look at these suppliers to see if you can find any suitable pizza sauces or who they might distribute to.  http://www.alibaba.com/countrysearch/CN/pizza-sauce.html
