I'm getting excited to try out this Pizza Party oven!

I have plans to build a permanent Forno Bravo oven in 5 years when my wife and I buy a new house, but we can't do anything where we live now. I have a wooden deck at my current house which is where I want to set up the oven. A friend (Wayno on the forum) recently bought a Forno Bravo Primavera which is a tad smaller than the Pizza Party (24" vs 27.5"), but a LOT heavier... he had to reinforce his deck and rent a forklift to get the oven in place... something that I'm unwilling to do! I checked the FedEx tracking information and the Pizza Party shipment weighs a total of 190 pounds (all pieces and parts). From what I've seen on the website, the actual Pizza Party oven only weighs 110 pounds with the floor bricks removed... my wife and I should be able to carry it into position and the weight won't be a problem for my deck.

I also ordered a Woodhaven log rack to install next to the oven (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009IMDBW/?tag=pizzamaking-20). The Woodhaven unit looks very sturdy and is made of heavy gauge welded steel. It should hold 1/8 cord (1/4 face cord) of split wood and keep the top layer of wood dry. Again, weight should not be an issue for my deck, and it will look great sitting next to the oven.

FedEx tracking shows the oven arriving Thursday of next week, firewood will be delivered on Saturday. I'll try to make pizza Saturday night. I'll have my camera in-hand to document the entire process of taking delivery, setup, and use of the oven.

Steve,

I'm excited to see what you think of this oven.  I might be able to talk my husband into this  ;D. I have the 1/2 cord version of the Woodhaven and it is sturdy.  We've had it about 4 years now without issues and so far, it has survived the harsh Jersey winters....

Best of luck with the oven.

Wood Fired oven Pizza Party easy to move
« Reply #23 on: March 28, 2014, 05:57:16 PM »
for Steve:
the weight of the pizza oven without refractory bricks is only 39kg( 85lb.), ideal to move

when you get to the place where you want to place it, put the 6 refractory bricks and the weight of the pizza oven is 50kg (110lb.)

if you are looking for wood, make sure it is dry, to improve efficiency and cooking
the pellet for pizzeria is a great alternative

Beautiful! I read somewhere on the web site about the oven and it's ability to stay outside in rain, but can't find it.
Help please.

From my understanding, the exterior of the oven is painted aluminum so that it won't rust.

From the FAQ:
http://www.forni-a-legna.com/wood-fired-pizza-oven-faq.htm

-Can the oven remain outdoors in winter?

the oven can be safely left outdoors, the only caveat is to close the flue and the front door so that the rain will not get inside

Thank you both for refreshing my memory.

I am also wondering about the reflective qualities of the metal sides and top of the dome as seen from the inside.
How does the cooking properties differ from a pizza oven made of all stone, brick or any other non-reflective material?
Perhaps the metal becomes black with use and does not have the reflective properties? ???

it took many years to develop the wood-fired oven, design the structure and choose the best materials, produced in Tuscany (near Florence)and traded by direct sales for save customers.
we have customers who use the Pizza Party 70x70 for over 10-15 years and still work perfectly, this is possible by using high quality products.
most our customers choose Pizza Party ovens for reliability and quality over time

I did not know until last year this forum, we have developed principally the European market, partly because the cost of transportation was very high for USA and CANADA, but now we were able to make excellent prices, home delivery.
and we can make direct sales to advise and save customers

massimocurro, Thank you for the videos. The pies look great ! If I may ask, how would you describe the Pizza Party oven compared to a more traditional WFO. Specifically is there any down side to having metal sides and top as compared to more traditional WFO materials?
