Best dome insulation?
« on: May 20, 2014, 07:59:21 AM »
So what is the best dome insulation material?  I was going to try an avoid the ceramic fiber blanket because of the carcinogenic issue.  Is rocwool or 10:1 percrete better, or is there something else people would use?  Thanks

Loose perlite is great if you are doing a house style enclosure you can pour it into, otherwise is use rock wool.

Pete, Herringtons will have mineral wool if you want it.

If you're building an enclosure you can always double up......wrap the dome with mineral wool then fill over with loose insulation...vermiculite or perlite.
