A quick crop in the photos app should do it- so here's a little test to see.

Edit: yep, that works.

OK, OK! ??? , so from what I am reading, pics should be taken , if on a cell phone, in the horizontal orientation, with the trigger on the right. ;D . Who said it wasn't easy :-D . How about if I take the pic with my camera, a real one, not a phone... E... 1. :P  Is portrait orientation ok? I need a hard and definitive answer to this most perplexing question,    how the h... do you take a pic that will post right side up and not sideways, and BEAUTIFUL? :-\

Mark,
I think that Chau has to take it!  I have always wondered if he is also a professional "amatuer" photographer for some shoddy outfit like National Geographic!  :-D
I have done wrong.. but what I did, I thought needed to be done.

CCgus,
It does not strike me as ironic that the same guy who made the Weber-PizzaJoe can also take excellent pictures with a phone!  ;)
That stilll sits in my head has one of the coolest well functioning DIY baking set-ups!

Hello, professional image editing programmer chiming in.

There's a little tag inside JPEGs that tells the software displaying it which way the orientation for the image is (see http://sylvana.net/jpegcrop/exif_orientation.html for more info).  So a camera (which traditionally has had little cpu power) can worry about taking pictures as fast as it can, rather than stopping and rotating pixels around.  The camera will then add this tag and the viewing software will do the rotation later on.

So the problem isn't with the iPhone (or other mobile phones and cameras that do this), it's with the software on the forum side which is processing it- it's not interpreting the JPEG images correctly.

Thanks...I figured it was only this forum as I've never had this problem before....

Earlier today, at Reply 129 at http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php?topic=32091.msg326460#msg326460, I described how I have been fixing misoriented photos in posts using Windows 7 and IE 11. If members are to fix their own photos, they should do as soon as possible after discovering the problem.

New discovery....set your picture setting to square on your iphone camera.  No editing need to flip the pic.
