I'd love to be an audiophile, but honestly it would be a waste. I'm not tone deaf, but I'm close.

I'm with you on the Adcoms Bobby!  It's an old Polk SRT system but still shakes the beams in my house.

Here's my little setup in the man cave.  It's a pair of Yamaha NS10s and an REL sub, driven by an old Peavey PA amp kept from my old band days.    Audiophile this setup certainly isn't, but theNS10s have been practically a standard fixture in recording studios for mixing for a long time, so a lot of material sounds very close to how the mixer intended it to sound.    The funny thing is they're also one of the most hated speakers in the audio engineering community... they aren't flat, full range, or even 'good sounding' to most people.   But it's too late for me, I've learned to love them and I ain't going to change.

Pix of NS10s in recording studios...

I started with Acoustat electrostatics which were great mid range speakers but required the addition of a sub woofer.  The size of the Soundlabs allow for a full range. Really good soundstage but as you know room layout is key.

No pics but have a Kenwood 9340 receiver, Technics sl 1310 turntable, an Akai 260d reel to reel, Technics cassette and CD player and still have all of my 800+or- a few, vinyl albums. I know many that tossed all their vinyl and rue the day I was there to take it!!! All the stereo stuff was bought at Ramstien Germany in circa
1974. NEVER EVER toss vinyl. Best stuff out there,,original!!!  Also 4 Bose 501 speakers. I start in on my albums and I'll go into a sort of fugue state and get lost in it :-D ???

Titanium counterweight- diamond stylus?  Or is it a ruby?  (Said with the appreciation and intensity of Will Ferrel to Paul Rudd's character when discussing Sex Panther from Odeon). I remember stylus envy.  I may still have it!
