pauline's pizza

Has anyone tried Pauline's Pizza? The very best
pizza in San Francisco. I've been trying to duplicate
their crust recipe for years and have gotten close but am not quite there yet. I'm pretty certain they use
milk in the recipe. Does anyone know more about this?

Hi I live in SF and have never tried Paulines. I have heard great things I will have to try it and see what I can come up with.

How far have you gotten on the recipe? 8)

After you try it, I'd like to compare notes on
the dough. It's  on Valencia near 14th and it really
is the best I've had outside NYC. It was originally
owned by a fellow named Savario who sold it'
and the recipe to the current owners several
years ago.  I'm almost certain he used lard in the
recipe and that the current owners have
substituted something else, probably olive oil.
I also think they use milk in the recipe, tho' in
what form I 've no idea. Let me know what you think
after you've eaten it.

I'm going to try and get a pizza from Pauline's this week.

I have had New York style pizza from a place called Pizza my heart in Santa Cruz.

I have not had their pizza in a couple of years but back in the 80's when I was a teenager it was great. It was just like what I had in NY during trips I took there during the same decade.

Have you had pizza from them?
