Best pizza in Texas?
« on: October 21, 2006, 01:16:43 AM »
The title says it all... where can I get the most awesome, tasty pizza in Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, or anywhere between?  I want to find out what a religious pizza experience is like.

FWIW, for me the scale of importance goes, from greatest to least: sauce, crust, cheese, toppings.

I don't see how you are going to find many people that can give you an informed decision about the best pizza in four large metropolitan cities.

What is the purpose of this?

The best pizza that I have had is from Stars Pizza in Houston. Their Chicago style pizza is amazing. I haven't tried their hand tossed yet, but I plan to the next time I'm there.

Vito Italian in the Bishop Arts neighborhood of Dallas.  The Turtle Creek/Uptown location isn't nearly as good.  IMO Vito's is the best in Dallas by far.

Here's a thread I started on the best in Austin ~ > Click Me < ~

My NY Style favorites in Austin are:

Rounder's
Homeslice
Saccone's

Mangia is the best for Chicago style. It's really good.
