Where can I learn about the 'basics' of pizza making?
« on: November 27, 2006, 05:32:11 PM »
This is my first post, I've just been looking at all the mouthwatering pizza photos since I came across this forum a few days ago  :pizza:

My question is where can a noob learn about making pizza?

The sources I have found so far:

- Jeff Varsano's Page
- The guide on billyreisinger.com
- http://www.taunton.com/finecooking/pages/cvt033.asp Video on pizza shaping

Are there any more good guides on the net? I would like to find more pizza shaping videos too.

Thanks for any help  :chef:

There are actually some really good explanations end recipes right here on the pizzamaking.com front page:)

Don't forget to take a look at the glossary too. A lot of good information!

You can even find a couple of hand picked links to other interesting sites on the front page.  ;)

Thanks for the info.

The 'Encyclopizza' looks very helpful.

I would recommend www.Homespunpizza.com

There is more info at this thread http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,3762.new.html#new

I don't know the owner, nor am I affiliated with him. He's a working parlor owner and seems to have his stuff down to a science. I have found his videos to be quite detailed and informative.
