Anyone know anything about food slicers.
Like what brands are good and what I should look for.

I like Hobart slicers, they cost more but last forever. get at least a 12 inch

I picked up my slicer on Ebay about 2 years ago. It took awhile to find one that wasn't bringing top dollar. If you are patient you can get a pretty good deal on one. I got a Globe 12" with a 1/3 HP motor made in 1955. It did need cleaned and the table thickness gear setup was froze up. I broke it trying to get it freed up. Parts are still available out there for mine. I paid $153.00 for it with shipping and about $70.00 in parts to get it in good shape.The gear setup new sharpening stones, new rubber stops, and some food grade grease. HTH  :) It comes in handy for making Kraut.  ;D
