OK....maybe I'm a little crazy, but since I needed to rush up to New York and back yesterday for a funeral, I couldn't help drag my sister and parents to the famous Brooklyn Di Fara's. My sister gets such a kick out of the fact that I'm a total nut when it comes to pizza (of course readers here think I'm just normal).
Here's a great article on the place:
http://www.sliceny.com/archives/000103.phpThe pizza wasn't my style; the dough more pastry like, the cheese excessive, but the pizza was clearly a work of art. This is not saying that the pizza was bad. It's like saying you don't like Piccaso, but you recognize the greatness of his paintings. I had never tasted a pizza like that I believe me, I've had a ton of pizza's. BTW, my sister loved his pizza especially the crust.
Dominick DeMarco is the master. Watching him make my pizza was like watching a great artist. His love for pizza (after 40+ years of making it) was quite evident.
