Best way to transport pizza in a suitcase..

I'll be flying to NYcity hopefully within the next 2 months and I want to bring back at least 5 pizzas..more if I can..back to CA with me..
I don't want to come home with a glob of cheese and sauce..I don't think they will let me carry it on so it's going to be in my suitcase with the cargo..I was thinking of bringing my vac-sealer but you can't get a good seal with out crushing the crust unless you freeze it first..
anyone have any suggestions..

In theory, it's logically possible, but I'm thinking success in this mission would be next to impossible. Put this adventure on YouTube and the hit count would be high. Btw, why are you wanting to do this?   :-\

Hehe, I kind of like this idea of pizzas in the suitcase.  ;D

The biggest problem in my eyes is that there is no guarantee that the suitcase won't be upside-down.
From what I've seen in airports, they don't usually handle the suitcases very gently. And no matter how you place the pizzas inside the suitcase I don't think they'll e able to survive tumbling up, down and around.

I guess you could buy a lot of those triangle plastic-sealable tupperware type of pizza containers.  Just slice up the pies, store in the containers, put them in the suitcase and go!

no idea why you would want to do this, but here are some ideas:
-wrap individual slices tightly with multiple layers of tin foil. stack the slices up in bundles and wrap the whole bundle. this is what I do when I bring leftover slices for lunch. they've survived some bumpy bike commutes.
-freeze pizza, pack with dry ice, thaw on arrival.
-pet carriers get handled very gently by the airlines. get the biggest pet carrier you can find and adopt a chiuhuahua. stack up pizza boxes on the bottom of the carrier. cover with something "water"-proof. put dog on top of pizza boxes.

My cousin has transported multiple pizzas (4x18", I think) on multiple occasions as his carry on. He flew out of JFK or LGA, I imagine, and likely landed in SJC or SFO. I think this was before 9/11, though, so there is no telling whether this will still 'fly.'

Refrigerate pizza so slices will separate cleanly.

Stack slices 3 each.

Wrap 3-slice stack in foil.

Seal foil-wrapped stack in Ziploc back.

Wrap 2-3 ziplock bags (that is, 2-3 stacks of slices) together in bubble wrap, put in a cardboard box, more bubble wrap, mark "perishible." Check curbside (so it goes straight to the plane and stays cold, if they do it that way) and pray for the best.

Very interesting topic.  Sounds like something I'd try on one of my crazier days.  I know there are pizza places that will ship all over the country, so in theory this idea is not that crazy.
But I don't know how you do it short of chartering your own jet.  I suppose if you wrapped them up really well and put them in a sturdy carrying case it might work out. But I don't know what the policy is for checking them at the gate or carrying them onto the plane.
Another thing to think about is how long do you intend to keep them?  Even if I were going to buy five or ten pizzas here in Phoenix there'd be the problem of how long will they keep? Pizza that's a week old is not the same as pizza fresh out of the oven.

thank you for some great tips..
for those of you wondering why the hell I'd want to take some pizza home from NY to CA I use to live in Brooklyn and have great childhood memories of the Pizza there..the last time I flew to NY was on business in 1980 and now that I am semi retired I want to spend a few days there doing nothing but trying out Pizza places and maybe going to a broadway play and the Letterman show..
sure I can make pizza at home and there are a few decent places here in the bayarea but nothing beats the real thing like in NY city so I want to stuff as much as I can into my freezer at home..
problem is my hotel won't have a fridge so I want to buy them fresh out of the oven on my way to the airport and they will be in my freezer in about 8 hours time..
I think I'll call the airline and ask them what they can do for me..I like the pet carrier suggestion except without the pet ;D
