Shredded Canadian Bacon

I haven't been to a joint with shredded canadian bacon (as opposed to sliced) in a long time, but I always loved it.  Has anyone here tried it and what brands/methods would you recommend.  I think just using a fine cheese grater will get the job done.  Anyone with some experience here?

No reply    I guess I am the only one who has ever had this topping on a pizza.  I suppose I will just have to take a stab at it and see how it turns out.

I considered replying concerning my experience with chopped ham, but some may not view that as being the same.  I'm sure shredded canadian bacon would be great on any pizza.  My favorite pizza while growing up was a chopped ham turnover (calzone) made by my friends, and briefly employers, Jeanette and Greg who owned Pepper's Pizza, then later moved and renamed the business J Gregory's.  Some seriously salty salivation starting sustenance for sure.

Cheese grater would work, but I'm thinking a few pulses with a food processor, or run it through a meat grinder with a fine plate.

Strangely enough, I have never thought of that. I will give it a go within the next few weeks. Pepperoni might be good shredded as well.

Pepperoni is killer shreadded.  Sir Pizza/Pizza king does this.

Are you talking about the chain like the one in Indiana? If so, how are they??

Yes, there are locations all over the US actually.   In my opinion they make a great Chicago thin crust, but I have only been to the Pittsburgh location.

I have never had shredded pepperoni.  Sounds great.  My favorite part of the pepperoni pizza is the crunchy seared outer part, by going shredded you would really get a lot more of that crunchy goodness, I would guess.  I am surprised no one here knows anything about the process of doing a shredded canadian bacon however.  Oh well, I will just have to practice
