More things to make with leftover dough - cheese bread
« on: April 15, 2007, 03:13:01 PM »
I had two 300g dough balls leftover from the latest pizza experiments and I also had some old cheeses on death row in the refrigerator. So, I grated up the cheeses and kneaded them into the dough and baked it the oven. There were some really good cheeses in there (I have no idea what they were) because the taste was great.

Anyway - the ongoing lesson here: always make excess dough and never throw it away. Too many fun things to do with it.

PizzaPolice,

It was really good. I used dry cheeses, so it wasn't gooey, but was full of cheese flavor. I only post these kinds of things when it was a success and it is something I think other members may want to try. You don't even want to hear about the recent experiment involving left- over dough balls and mashed potatoes.  :(

I will give it a try if there is any leftover dough.  Not usually.  However, I did learn one important thing.
With the spring weather and short sleeves, I learned that the long fire gloves just aren't long enough and burn gel is a godsend when you scorch your arm.

BTW, your mixing directions are spot on.  It comes out like a smooth taffy.  Beautiful.  So that too, is scorched into my memory banks.
