Has anyone tried the pizza at Tiramisu (the restaurant, not the dessert), on Third Ave. & E. 80th St., in New York? They have a wood-burning oven (very high temperature, too, I would guess, from the blazing logs I saw inside). Anyone have an opinion on the Pizza Margherita? I thought it was pretty good, but having never been to Italy, I don't know how authentically Italian it is. Is that what an Italian pizza is supposed to be? It was lighter than traditional New York pizza, which was as I expected, but the edge was crispy, whereas I had expected the whole pizza to be soft.
Incidentally, the fried-calamari-and-shrimp appetizer, and the Tiramisu dessert were very good.
