Hi Gang
I know that I haven't chimmed in for a bit, just been busy with work and such, and then Mother Nature adds a bit of a breeze to contend with. Well, I know how Noah felt. Been boarding up the homestead and getting all the junk outa the yard. I did manage to go get a pizza yesterday at a fine pizzaria in town. JJs in Pensacola, best in town and they had an Ivan special, $10.00 all you can drink tap beer. Sorry to say that I didnt have time to enjoy that. The pie was good though.
Anyone else in the path of Ivan?????????
We were going to have friends over for pizza tomorrow. Might be a little breezy. Hope the roof stays on.

Gased up car  Yep
Money from the machines   Yep
Laundry done    Yep
House boarded    Yep
all the airborn projectiles picked up   Yep
cold pizza in the fridge    Yep
Cold BEER    Yep
bags packed    Yep
Garage door secured   Yep
house cleaned   Yep
the list goes on and on.......

Hope all this pays off.
Can still do pizza on a grill so it might not be too bad, just hope the electicity isnt off for the projected 3 weeks

All the best to everyone and I will get back with you after all the necessary work is done and I have rested for a bit.

How far inland are you?

Be safe... a category 4 hurricane packs quite a punch!

I'll be thinking of you.

Hope you keep safe.  The hotels in the area (Fort Worth/Dallas) are almost completely filled by people fleeing from Ivan.  They say Houston is 100% filled.

Yeah, Florida is getting hit bad this year. I guess my "small" apartment flooding is nothing in comparison to these poor souls. Just heard another Huricane is brewing up in the Caribic.... Keep safe people!

What the H_ll was that???

Well
That was something that you dont want to do every day!
Family is OK
House has some damage.
Minor compared to a bunch of the people in the area and some good friends who lost everything.
We are very lucky and extremely blessed.
I live about 25 miles from the shore, north of P'cola.
I am in healthcare, and the hospital that I work at took a real good hit. Trying to sort things out still.
Gotta sign off for now.
Thanks for all the well wishes

I was glad to see your post Pizzaholic and that you and your family is safe.

Pierre, Jamaica made the hurricane jump and not cross Cuba earlier than it did.  Good for us but bad those folks in Florida and I hate that for them.  It is so flat here that we can handle huge amounts of rain without major flooding like in the mountains in North Georgia.
