I'm sure most of you don't have the right resources to find great pepperoni, so heres a tip for helping your get the best out of your regular store bought pepperoni, such as hormel.
There are two problems with Hormel.
1. Too salty.
2. Too greasy.
I've been able to figure out some ways to fix this.
Fixing problem 1.
Lay out your pepperoni on a plate with a layer of paper towell underneathe it.
Dice up some apples, very finely, and the soak up some of the juice with a towell.
Spread the apples on top of the pepperoni and let them sit for 5 minutes, the apple will soak up some of the salt.
Take off the apples, and dry your pepperoni off completely.
Problem 2.
Transfer your pepperoni onto another place with 3 paper towells on it. Put 3 more on top.
Put it into the microwave for 25 seconds.
Dab off the excess grease.
Your pepperoni will crisp up very nice, and taste spicier and less salty.
Thanks!
